Frequently Asked Questions About Renewal by Andersen Windows And Doors.

Q. What material are the windows and doorframes made from?
A. Revolutionary Fibrex® material helps set our windows apart. This breakthrough composite combines the strength and stability of wood with the low-maintenance features of vinyl. Fibrex material is a blend of wood fiber and a specially formulated thermoplastic polymer that’s resistant to changes in temperature, contracting minimally in heat or cold. That means it’s also resistant to bowing and cracking*, conditions that lead to air and water infiltration. Fibrex material is also an excellent insulator preventing heat or cold transfer into or out of your home. What’s more, Fibrex material resists decay and prevents future rot*, so you’ll never have to scrape or paint. Not only is Fibrex® material a high performance material, but we conserve raw materials when we make it. All of the wood fibers used in the compounding process, as well as some of the thermoplastic polymer, are reclaimed directly from the 65-acre Andersen Corporation manufacturing plant operations in Bayport, Minnesota.

Q. How long has Renewal by Andersen been in business?
A. Renewal by Andersen’s parent company is Andersen Corporation. In 2003, Andersen proudly marked its Centennial. Founded as a family-run operation with Hans Andersen, an energetic Danish immigrant, Andersen has always been committed to doing things “different and better.” Throughout the past century, Andersen revolutionized the window and door business through product innovation, employee involvement, and community service. Andersen’s ability to create and adapt over the course of a challenging century has been integral to our success.

Q. Are Renewal by Andersen windows energy efficient?
A. Renewal by Andersen Windows & Patio Doors obtained the HIGHEST ENERGY EFFICIENCY Rating (ER) among the Ontario Hydro list of 1300 similar products by over 100 manufacturers.

Q. Is winter condensation a problem with Renewal by Andersen Windows?
A. No! The colder the window, the more humidity it will attract. This humidity condenses and builds to frost, contributing to the deterioration of wall masonry, wall coverings, and wall rot. Fibrex frames give you the best protection against these conditions.
