HardiePlank® is a fiber cement based siding, so it's impervious to water, termites, woodpeckers, and any other animal you can think of. It's dimensionally stable so it won't warp like wood or vinyl siding can, and it won't melt or warp when heat is applied to it. Of course everybody has seen wood burn, and I have even seen vinyl siding melt and warp when a hot BBQ pit was close to the side of a house, but HardiePlank® siding won't do that. Just think of trying to set fire to a piece of concrete!
James Hardie® siding also is moisture resistant, so it will not rot like wood siding and fiberboard siding can. Wood and composite siding can start rotting when the paint film becomes old and cracked and allows moisture to penetrate the siding. Once that moisture gets in the siding, the rot can grow quickly and if left unchecked can allow the wall framing to become compromised. The James Hardie® siding products are installed over a moisture-resistant house wrap that will not allow moisture to get in the wall.
If you're looking for siding that won't rot, warp, or burn, then James Hardie® siding is the best choice for your home. For any further questions or comments about HardiePlank® siding, please post below or contact us directly.
